Crack Breakfast Sliders Recipe

A candid, bright food photograph of a hand pulling a warm, gooey Crack Breakfast Slider away from a baking dish, showing melted cheddar cheese stretching from the savory sausage and fluffy eggs beneath a golden-brown bun.

Ingredients

  • 1 (12-count) package Hawaiian sweet rolls

  • 1 lb ground pork breakfast sausage

  • 6 large eggs

  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

  • 6 slices sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

  2. Cook sausage: In a skillet, brown the ground sausage until cooked through. Drain all grease well.

  3. Scramble eggs: Whisk eggs with milk, salt, and pepper. Soft scramble them in a buttered skillet over medium heat.

  4. Slice rolls: Using a serrated knife, slice the entire slab of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in the baking dish.

  5. Layer: Evenly spread the cooked sausage over the bottom buns. Top with the soft scrambled eggs, then an even layer of cheddar cheese slices. Place the top buns over the cheese.

  6. Glaze: Whisk together the melted butter, maple syrup, and Dijon mustard. Brush generously over the tops of the rolls. Let sit for 5 minutes.

  7. Bake: Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.

  8. Serve: Slice into individual sliders and serve warm. Enjoy!
